Signing in to Chrome does not establish that an unrelated website accepted a login. Check two separate places: Chrome's own account status and the website's account state. A profile picture by itself is not enough to identify either result.
Keep browser and website evidence separate
Google's Chrome sign-in guidance explains that Chrome sign-in can connect browser data and Google web services to a Google Account. That is a defined Google scope, not evidence about an unrelated library website. Record the site session from that site's response.
Do not enter a password or change synchronisation settings merely to test this distinction. Start by reading the existing account indicators. If they are ambiguous, record the status as unknown instead of treating the absence of an error as success.
Hypothetical two-stage reading-account check
Hypothetical example: Mira checks Chrome's account settings and confirms that her Google Account is signed in. She then opens a fictional library's verified address. The library displays its sign-in page and no reader account name.
Her first record is: browser signed in; library session not established by the page. She has not demonstrated a library login simply by opening that address in Chrome.
Later, she completes the library's separate authentication flow. In this fictional example, the resulting page displays her expected reader name and account area. Chrome's account status has not changed. Her second record is: browser signed in; expected library account displayed. The changed evidence came from the library page, not from a new browser profile picture.
When the page gives conflicting clues
A public header may still contain a general sign-in link. Compare the actual account area before concluding that the session failed. Conversely, an expected-looking name in ordinary page text is weaker evidence than the account view reached through the site's own verified navigation.
If indicators disagree, leave the website result unresolved and use official help. Describe the page and stage without sharing credentials. Browser sign-in and website authentication remain separate even when both use the same email address.
